The notion of “tadashiku” can be perceived and translated as “correctly” or “properly manner“.

in this context, the Way of the Sword should be primarily a moral path founded on a solid sense of honor.

in the absence of an ethical attitude can not be discussed about an authentic development, even though this does not exclude the possibility of existence of some acceptable technical skills.

the martial activity should be a method of personal development.

an exquisite practitioner it is not just a connoisseur of a proper technique, but also it is a master through a distinctive mind, firmness and determination.

in this manner the martial art itself it is a journey rather than a purpose.

the readers of this martial art blog should understand that all the technical advices that I have wrote here do not replace the dojo training.
their purpose is meant to highlights the substance of each technique like something that should be considered as a summary.

After learning for a period a proper form of Kendo in Japan, I am modifying next statements:

Pointing an Ippon is an essential aspect of competition.
After having made a firm decision to participate at a shiai, one’s should do his best to win.

“Ethical attitude” it is not specifically to a mature Kendo as I was tempted to believe, but to a normal Kendo.

*   The original text is following:

Through pointing an Ippon it could depend the result of a competition, but actually this does not matter so much.

even so, I am tempted to say that this is probably the least important aspect when somebody tries to practice a genuine and quality Kendo, the obsession of Ippon being in general the prerogative of the undeveloped practitioners or of the newcomers.

a mature keiko it is defined in the first place by showing a specific ethical attitude exposed in front of the opponent through a sense of honor and moral application of strategy.
